What to Expect

We’re Glad You’re Here!

Visiting a new church can feel like a big step, but we want you to feel right at home at The WORD! Here’s everything you need to know before your first visit!

  • Come as you areThere’s no dress code
  • Newborn–12th gradeNursery, Kids & Students
What Should I Wear?

Come as you are! You’ll see everything from jeans and T-shirts to dresses and suits, so wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. There’s no dress code at The WORD because we believe church is about connecting with God and one another, not impressing anyone.

What Is a Typical Sunday Service Like?

Our Sunday services begin with an energetic, engaging time of worship where you’re free to participate however you feel comfortable—whether that means singing, clapping, lifting your hands, or simply taking it all in. You’ll also hear a Bible-based message from our pastors with practical encouragement to help you live out your faith throughout the week, along with opportunities for prayer and a response at the altar. Our services last approximately 75 minutes, and there’s a place for you here!

What Do You Have for My Kids?

Your kids are welcome here, too! We want every child to feel safe, loved, and excited to learn about Jesus. Our Nursery welcomes newborns through age 2 in a loving, nurturing environment with caring volunteers, while Kids @ The WORD offers a fun, engaging experience for children ages 3 through 5th grade with music, games, and age-appropriate Bible lessons.

What Do You Have for My Teenager?

We believe faith grows through community! Our Student Ministry provides a place for students in 6th–12th grade to build friendships, ask honest questions, grow in their faith, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life. Students meet at our midweek gatherings on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM at the Lakeside campus. The last Sunday of every month our Students Pastors have do a devotional with our Students during the worship service.

Where Should I Park?

We meet in the auditorium. When you arrive, park in the Senior Parking Lot on the west side of the school and choose your favorite decorated parking spot. We'll see you inside!

Where Do I Go When I Arrive?

Once you arrive, head to the main lobby, where our Welcome Team will be ready to greet you and help you get settled. You’ll find the main auditorium just off the front lobby. If you have questions or need a hand, just ask—we’re happy to help!

What Denomination Is The WORD?

The WORD is a part of the Church of God, headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. We are a Christ-centered, Bible-based church family committed to helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and live out God’s purpose for their lives.
